Hello,

I have a blackmoor that is about 4 to 5 years old that appears to
have developed pop-eye. The fish has had pop-eye for at least six
months and every treatment I try doesn't work. It is only affecting
one eye and the other blackmoor seems unaffected, for now at least.

One of the eyes seems to be riding in a pocket of either air or
fluid, but I don't know how to tell. I have tried using Mardel which I
either got from Petsmart or Petco. The tank is twenty gallons so I
dropped in two tablets each day for 12 days, but the eye hasn't gotten
better.

I have performed this treatment twice now and not sure what I need
to do. The fish seems healthy or than his/her eye. The fish has quite
an appetite and will eat a lot if I provide the food. Most of the day
the fish just kind of lounges around as the other fish does.

For a while the eye seemed stable, but now after a few weeks have
past since the last treatment the eye seems to be getting worst. I am
sure my little fish must be in some pain and want to cure him/her.
What else should I be doing? I have some primitive pictures, but the
visual quality isn't that good. I hope it will help though.. Please
help!!!!

it isnt pop eye... when only one is involved it is most likely either mechanical
damage or one eye is just going to be different size than the other.. this is common
in telescope fish. Ingrid
