I noticed that my blackmoor has white fuzzy stuff appearing on his fins,
the tail as well as dorsal, so I removed him from his 20L tank, which he
shares with a ryukin, and placed him alone in a 5 gallon hospital tank.

The 5 gallon is set up right next to the 20L tank, so he and his ryukin
friend can still see each other and communicate while his fungus clears
up:)

They have been tank mates for over a year, and both are about 4 inches
long, not counting tails fins. The ryukin shows no sign of white fuzzy
stuff...

I treated the hospital tank water with a half tablet of Maracyn, which
the packaging says is for "fin and tail rot, popeye, and body fungus,"
and a half tablet of Tetracyoline, which the packaging says is for "fin
and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, and secondary infections."

I cut the tablets in half because the directions say that they are
formulated to use one per each 10 gallons.

Well, this is Day 1 of the treatment. I plan to continue this treatment
plan for about 2 weeks, with a 100% water and half tablet change each
day. Hopefully, the fungus will be gone at the end of this two week
period...

dont mix medications and hospital tanks should be much larger than regular tanks so
the water is cleaner. get a 20 gallon rubbermaid for your hospital tank. the fuzzy
stuff may be columnaris. try some methylene blue treatment if you cant get potassium
permanganate or permoxyn by Kordon. Ingrid

Also, 20 litres is way to small for two goldfish. You'd need something
more like 80 litres.
