solar powered pond pump

has anyone tried one of these in conjunction with a pond?

are they effective with british weather what it is?

I wouldn't count on one 100% even in my sunny South Florida location- we
still have runs of cloudy days.
Can't imagine it in British weather.... maybe as an auxillary pump but
certainly not as my primary.

It does also say that in peak conditions it pumps 400 litres per hour. I
know that with home power, even in very cloudy, rainy weather, the panels
still catch some power. ie. you can still see during the storm, so there
is still light, but I also know that the power output at these times are
MUCH MUCH lower.

It may be worth a try, as water will still keep moving, but your fountain
(or waterfall) may be going very slow during rainy weather.

And in rainy weather you'd be able to tell, how?

Besides all those droplets hitting the water have got to be ok for all
the things you'd want a fountain/waterfall for anyway, right?
