Hello,
I bought some comets 4 months ago and until now they seemed fine (well,
except for a bad case of Ick but it was cleared out without too much damage)
but right now two of them have some pale-yellow/white spots, much larger
than ick (each covering 4-5 scales).
I've tried salt + methylene blue + daily 10% water change for over a week
but it seems to stay
Any idea what it might be?

Hi Duf,
Sounds like it might be ammonia/nitrIte burn
How many fish? How big? What size is your tank. is it cycled? What kind of
filter?
If you have test kits what are ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte, pH readings?
If you're an experienced fishkeeper / if your tank is established...
Methylene blue might have killed your biofilter?
... See recent thread in this group re: methylene blue
If you're new - and if your tank is cycling, 10% daily water change probably
isn't enough.
IMHO much bigger daily WC are required during cycle.
Job 1 is to change enough water each day to keep ammonia & nitrIte at lowest
readings on test kits...

what are your water quality parameters, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH? it could
be epistylis. Ingrid
