A few questions for you....I have two small goldfish in a 10 gallon
tank. ( 1 common and 1 comet that my children won at a fair recently)
I currently use a small old fashion corner filter. Although it seems
to be keeping the water clean, I want to upgrade to a power filter. I
saw a whisper filter rated at 200 GPH at walmart. (27.00) Is this a
good size? Is there another filter you would recommend? Also, I
understand that this tank is too small. I will upgrade sometime in the
future. What size tank would be good for these 2 fish? When do I know
when I need a larger tank? Since I am new to this hobby, I want to
keep my costs down, but I dont want to be cruel either.
Thank you for your advise.
if that one has two filters, yes, it is fine. a 20 gallon is recommended. Ingrid

I'd check out Otter's post above..."Petsmart will match the price
of.....Petsmart?" A Penguin 170 is a much better filter (biowheel, and all
that), and it's apparently cheaper than the one you've found (if purchased
through the web or with web info in hand while at retail outlet). It'll
also do fine with a tank 2 or 3 times larger than you have now (should you
decide to upgrade).

I wouldnt reccomend a Bio-Wheel. My BIo-Wheel is TERRIBLE! It has
crashed 4 times so far this year. I am cycling another filter so I can
get rid of the Bio-Wheel. One of the biggest regrets I have in the
fish hobby, is getting a Bio-Wheel.
