Hi all,
A new subscriber to the group here. I've been reading through the posts and
noticed reference to Pothos & Philodendron being placed in tanks. I've had a
look through Ingrids great website and through most of the posts here, but
cannot find the original article.
Would some kind soul please fill me in on their use and benefits?
Thanks!

Goldfish eat the water plants!... I had a HUGE sword plant that I got form the
LFS with lots of babies, and the fish stripped it down to a nub in just 2 days.
I yanked it out before they could finish it off and it's now growing well
again...

By using pothos and the philodendrons, the fish don't seem to attack and eat
them as much, though the do like to nibble a bit on the long roots. Also since
the leaves are smooth, they don't get dirty like the other plants... Since the
plants are being munched, they can do their job at helping keep the tank
clean...

I meant to say since the plants are NOT being munched, they can help keep the
tank clean... : )
