I've had my 4" fantail goldfish in a 30L hospital tank.

He/she is now ready to go back home. - I've steam cleaned his/her home tank
100L and put 5L of the water from where he/she lives now to seed the tank.

When can FatFish go home - He/she is bumping his head when a sprint is
attempted. Present home is too small.

Cheers
Bolly

My advice would be to constantly monitor ammona, nitrite and nitrates if you have
cleaned his main tank. Using old water won't help a great deal in seeding the
tank.
Using a current filter and squeezing the 'juice' helps.

Thanks for that Geezer.

I've got a little Fluval 1 in the established hospital tank.

Would it make sense to run it along with the bigger clean filter I have in
the big tank for a few weeks? Last time I cleaned the 'hospital' filter in
acqa water it was juicy enough.

cheers

Yep you can do that. Assuming no sick fish have been in the hospital
tank recently. Don't want to transfer any nasties to the main tank.
