I have a garden pond ( 1000 litres ) with 15 assorted goldfish in it. They
have been OK for about 3 months and the plants are growing well.
Recently I have lost a fantail to fungus type growth and now find that 2
more fantails have the same symptoms. The shubunkins, comets and orfe are OK
at present. Any one have any ideas please

Fungus is usually a secondary problem, brought on by external
parasites.
Treat with a formaldahyde/malachine green combination. If you are
using salt, I would remove it first, salt and formaldehyde is supposed
to be a bad combination for goldfish.

yup. I agree. but start with looking at your water parameters. that is only a 250
gallon pond you got there. I imagine all kinds of birds etc are in an out of the
pond. what kind of aeration and filtration do you have? this pond is simply too
small for orfes. find them a new home or build a bigger pond, something over 1000
gallons and at least 3 feet deep. Ingrid
