There's too many posts here that are OBVIOUSLY NOT about goldfish (or any
aquatic life), and wouldn't be allowed on most other places on the web. Why is
it here?

GREAT! I was also a bit worried as we will be dumping a-o-hell soon and they
made out like this site was part of their service... Pretty pompous huh?.. I'm
glad I can still access here when I change over, as Jo and Ingrid have been
absolutely invaluable helps as we progress through our goldfish learning...

Don't know if anyone mentioned this already,
but you can also access newsgroups through
Google:
http://groups.google.com/
Just in case your new service doesn't make
all your favorite newsgroups available.
Gail
or, alternatively use http://groups-beta.google.com/ which (I have to
say) is absolutely fantastic. Unlike groups.google.com it updates
every few seconds & allows you to subscribe & mark entries which
interest you.

If your new service provider does not carry the group, you
can ask that it be added to their newsgroup list. Most ISP's
are very accommodating in that fashion.
