View Full Version : My experence with Just Liners, Inc.

There is an old saying about good vs bad service. Rutgers did a study
and found that when people get good service, they remember it for 18
months and tell 9-12 other people. For bad service memories go back as
far as 23 years and they will tell 20 people a year.

I guess that is why I didn't say anything here when I had good service
from Just Liners Inc.

The first order was made 19Jun03, charged 20Jun03. 5 days after the
order, 24Jun03 we got a tracking number. 34 hours later, the order
arrived.

Great first experience.

On 18Jul03, we placed a small order for barley straw. We got an email
confirming our order in seconds. We were charged 19Jul03. We expected
an email with tracking information. That never arrived. In fact, we
had to call them because we had heard nothing by 28Jul03. On that
date, we were told the straw had been on back order and would be
shipped 29Jul03 and delivered by 1Aug03. By 4Aug03, no straw had
arrived, so we called *again* to ask what was going on. Just Liners
Inc said they would call us back that day. We got no call that day or
the 5th, or the 6th. So we called them *again* on 7Aug03 to *really*
find out what was going on.

This was such a pleasant call. No one had any idea what was going on.
I was eventually passed on to a 'manager' that also had no idea what
was going on. The entire call was filled with lame excuses such as "We
aren't perfect" "Let me call the warehouse" "No one knows why" and the
like. I even told them that the reason I was calling was that we had
had such a good experience the first time, and I wanted to give them a
chance to make things right.

I wasn't very happy. The called ended when I was told that Just Liners
Inc didn't really need my business.

Let me tell you that again:

Just Liners Inc doesn't really need my business.

Well, isn't that nice? Isn't that just the perfect way to get me to
want to spend more of my money with them? And persuade me to tell even
one person what a great company they are?

At this time, I have no faith what so ever that they will actually
credit my account, so, of course, I've disputed the charge with my
credit card company.

I just hope that should you be searching for a reputable company, that
you might take my experience with Just Liners Inc into consideration.

If you can recommend a good company, please do so =]

Even the best companies screw up, the worst companies sometimes get it right
but there is just no excuse for being rude and I think you did the right
thing. I bought my liner from them as well, the service was great...maybe
they should stick to "just liners" :-).

Here's how my justliners liner was delivered:

http://www.big-list.com/liner.jpg

Pretty neat, huh?

It was drop shipped from Great Lakes Containment, Kalkaska MI.
No comment from justliners when I emailed them the photos. Maybe
they should choose their suppliers more carefully?

My PerformancePro C 1/4-44 pump arrived safely and quickly, it was
also drop shipped. And (thank goodness) they also drop-shipped (from
Aqua Ultraviolet) a replacement UV bulb I had ordered, but the rest of
that order (some pond chemicals and a pH test kit) arrived direct from
justliners poorly packed.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I can recommend The Water Garden
for barley straw. I don't know how their price compares to others, but
it arrived quickly and was easy to toss into the pond. Their URL is

Good luck.

Ditto on the service from pondtechnology.com AKA Resource Conservation Tech.
I have bought liner, hose, pumps, all manner of fittings, even skimmers,
from them. The nice lady who answers the phone can process your basic order,
but if you need some technical advice or plumbing help, be sure to talk to
David.
I get one day delivery by regular UPS.
Great company!

wouldnt blame that on justliners, I shipped my daughter a computer I
built for her and the shipping company dropped it off a conveyor belt
and totaly destroyed it. somehow crushed the case and to top it off the
insurance I payed for wouldnt cover ( i spent 1200$ building it and
programing it, they found one from a used puter supply for 250$ that
they replaced it with )

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

John ... This really REALLY makes me mad. You have the
rottenest luck!! Is there anyway you could come back the
the ones who replaced the computer?

Do you have a detailed spec of the computer, i.e., motherboard, hard
drive etc? I ask, because a similar thing happened to me and the
insurance company was going to do the same trick until I presented them
with the detailed spec, at which point them paid up. They have to replace
like with like, if you just say its a computer type x then they can get
away with providing a functional equivalent, but if you provide a
detailed spec then they have to provide a replacement. At least, that how
it worked for me here in Ontario.

Based partly on reading this newsgroup and after talking to David yesterday,
I went ahead and ordered all the equipment to get our pond started. Decided
to have the equipment shipped so it will be here later this week. I was
originally going to purchase from Justliners but decided to investigate a
bit more after this thread, decided to buy from somewhere a bit closer (I'm
in Leesburg, Virginia, Pond Technologies is in Baltimore) so if there is a
serious problem, I'd be able to talk to them in person.

Hoping to spend the coming weekend installing the equipment, basic hole is
dug so a lot of the work is behind us!
