What level is the iron in your well water (in ppm)?
If it's above 1.5 - 2 ppm, you should go for a conditioning system for your
home, as higher iron levels can stain clothing, and cause buildup on your
shower nozzles, faucets, etc..

yeah, good idea to use oxygen or PP to precipitate the iron out (use a bucket filter
with gravel to trap the precip in an aging vat) if it is really a lot of iron. it
can precip into their gills and cause problems. If you are adding smaller amounts of
water it shouldnt hurt. Ingrid

As long as your PH is > 7 it'll perc out. I have high iron water and no ill
effects.
