View Full Version : How to quieten a Bakpak?

I just got my CPR bakpak. It seems a little loud to me. It's a good bit
louder than the Penguin Biowheel that I am going to phase out. Is there
any good way to adjust this so it is quieter?
Thanks,
Clay

Can't help with the CPR problem, although washclothes seem to work for
air pumps. I tried foam rubber, but it deteriorates. Washclothes just
get dirty. Throw them in the washer, and Voila! BUT, why are you
getting rid of the biowheel?
Deus benedicat vestrum quamvis.

Maybe I won't. I was under the impression that they were unnecessary with
enough live rock, but I don't have much of that yet.

sounds like a good enough reason to phase out the bio wheels :)

Watch out for a nitrate spike if you get rid of the existing bio wheel.

They should have included a "muffler" for the air intake line... which will
get rid of the sucking noise.... Mine is silent.
