Howdy
We are just finalizing our basement bar/pond here and I have a quick
question.
What temperature should the water be at for koi. Currently we have 2
butterfly koi in our living room pond and are giving them a new home in the
basement. The upstairs pond is at 18c and downstairs might get to 15c (just
filled it this AM).
I am thinking that is OK, but just wanted other yays or nays.
Thanks
A
Hal

The cooler temperature just means they shouldn't get more food than
they can handle at the lower temperature. Food digests faster at
warmer temperatures and waste breaks down faster. I'm sure it won't
take long for you to adjust their feeding to the new temperature.

Hal

60-65oF is really great temp. immune system working and yet they dont require a lot
of food, like every 3 or 4 days. low level wastes. check nitrates along with
everything else to determine when to do water changes. Ingrid
