Derek moved to the east coast of Canada.
I seem to remember that there would be
no room for a pond or it was not a good
area for a pond. I guess he has the great
salt water pond outside his door.

Yes, and I seem to remember something about a lousy internet connection for
getting newsgroups? Rob Farlee is here on the West Coast of Washington
State. I think he can be found in gardening.rec maybe. I know the place
they retired to was in great need of TLC landscaping and he was going to
complete that before working on a pond. Perhaps he'll come back at that
time. Hopefully someone else knows what happened to Rennie.
I was wondering where Mac Knight is hiding these days? ~ jan

Rennie is in British Columbia - but lurking here.
I've been wondering about Vern from Oregon ...
anybody heard from him?
He and Rennie were/are buds ... He fish-sat Bonnie's (Colorado)
fish several years ago...
I do miss these folks.

Thanks Bonnie for the news re: Vern. I'm really sorry we
lost track of him. Wayne B. lives in the same area ....
I know he hasn't seen him.
Speaking of losing folk - how about Randy from Aloha (Oregon)?
I could go on and on here.
It's terrible to lose track of folks ... :(

We should all make a pact that if we leave RP for an extended period (or
forever) we'll report the reason prior to, i.e., new job, too busy, new
hobby <shock, gasp>, divorce (spouse got pond),..... ~ jan

These are probably the very reasons people vanish off the NGs and Usenet.
Plus general burn-out. I did little with the ponds the year after my MC
accident. With a broken leg in a cast, then a brace... surgery and
another brace.... :-( The last thing on my mind were my ponds and fish.
I couldn't even get down in the yard to visit them without help that
summer. Even then they thrived on the inexpert care of my long-suffering
husband.
