Hi, I would like to build a bog or veggie filter for my pond which is
approx 15 by 20 and 3 feet deep. Any helpful sites or advice.
TIA.

Hi Lucy,
We route our water through a 150 gallon
stock tank. Goes in at the bottom, flows up,
out the top, thru holes my DH drilled, four large
ones with pipes in them and then down our waterfall.
In the top I float water hyacinths. I keep a waterproof rope around them that
threads thru small holes in the side to keep them from blocking the outflow.
They really grow and take off in there.
They will get three feet high and have huge leaves so they are slurping up
their share of fish nutrients!
I have tried hanging water plant baskets over the sides filled with watercress
but the mice ate it all!
I also filled light grid with watercress stems and that really took off and
worked great until the labradors decided to walk all over it and cracked it all
up.
kathy :-)

My Pond is about 10x13x4. My VF is about 10x5x1. It is massively planted
with Water Hyacinth, water iris, and a few others. I also plant many
invasive species around the perimeter like mint, whose roots find their way
deep into the VF.
Aside from the great mud fiasco of 2003, my water parameters are B-A-utiful.
Don't let these mechanical filter using, espresso drinking, SUV driving,
plastic filter media types fool ya. Plants is as plants does.

Well almost but have decided to put in more natural water fall and make
a path around side of pond with steping stones and white rock,so guess
you never are done after all. I am in our pond tour ( lima.Ohio) this
