I've just updated my site with new pictures of my pond, frogs and lilies if you
care to take a look. There is a picture of what I believe to be a pickeral
frog, if it's not, could you tell me what type of frog he is. Thanks
the new pictures are Pond Pictures July 04

I loved your pictures, Karen. I don't know a thing about frogs, but you do
have a variety of them. Do they all make noise? I bet if they do, its a neat
sound.

Hiya Karen, how sure are you that your white lily is Virginia? I have a
Virginia also and it's pedals are crinkled. Check out page 1 of *My Pond

Hi Jan
I see that some of the petals are crinkled, so I don't know. The lily was sent
to me and they told me it was Virginia. As far as I know that's the only white
lily I have.

Hi Dave and Jan,
Yes at night I have a real chorus going, between the off-key banjo and the
toads chirping it's quite fun. This is the first year I've had frog make my
pond their home. Guess it got too crowded down in the creek, which is 2 houses
away. I'm lovin it!

Perhaps what you have is Virginalis? Check out:

Does the description on the first website fit yours? I have Virginia and it
takes forever to form it's first bloom of the season. Here it is mid-July
and still not a bud on it and we've had some HOT weather... course my pH
being high for a while didn't help. Hopefully now that the pH is down it,
Red Flare and Evelyn Randig (who didn't winter well) will get going. Lots
of pads, but no buds from any of them yet. ~ jan

Jan,
it seems to be I'm not sure if it's new pads are bronze or not, several are,
but I'll check tomorrow to see if the white flowers leaves are bronze. The
picture seems to look more like my lily tho. To be honest, they've been
divided so many times, I've lost track of who's who LOL. Next year I think
will be a give away year, either that or I do away with a bell fountain and put
them down the other end. I had 11 cuttings from 1 lily I bot late in the
season last year. They've all gone to town.

I pot all my divides up (a lot of work) and sell, so I can afford to keep
koi. Last year and this one were expensive for me, between meds and
supplies. Hopefully next year won't be so. :o) ~ jan

Karen,
Nice pond! How many gallons? How big is the pump...that looks like a big
water flow on the falls.
Nice!

Hi Phyllis,
Thanks, a work in progress. The pond is just shy of 4000 gallons and next year
the edge will be redone to hide the liner that shows, now that the ground has
had time to settle completely. There are actually 3 pumps in the pond, a 550
under the small bell, a 1200 under the large bell and a 3600running the
bio/mechanical filter/waterfall. I have a 1 1/2 in line to the tub and 3
discharge lines to the waterfall. Sounds really cool.
