View Full Version : Electronic blanket weed killer - kills pond plants?

July 15th 04, 10:11 AM
After suffering blanket weed for years and trying different unsuccessful remedies I fitted one of
these units.

Although dubious (the way it works still sounds like pseudo science) I confess it does seem to work.
I have a little live blanket weed 'fuzz' on the liner and that's all, but lots of dead looking
greenish sediment everywhere.

My concern is I've noticed most of my potted plants (Iris, reeds etc.) have put on hardly any
growth, (apart from Water Mint). So is the same effect that reduces the blanket weed also affecting
the growth of other plants?
Even Elodea (sp?) which can be rampant has hardly grown an inch so far this season (I'm in the UK
btw)

Anyone come across this before?

Can you post a link to this product? I have never heard of it.
