Yes, I'm just full of question today!
For those of you that use pond lighting, I'm wondering if you preferred
the "look" of underwater lights or out of water lights.
I just want to illuminate my little fountain of water in the middle of my
5 x 8 pond, and don't want to bother my fish. My choices would be either
light from under the water or perhaps using one of the "rock" lights aimed
at the fountain from the edge of the pond. Thanks again,
Kirsten

I use two solar powered LED variety garden lights near my stream. They light
the small bridge for safety, and attract insects to the pond for the frogs
to feed on.

Can you find them at places like Home Depot?

Sure can I buy a box of 10 for about 60.00. Have about 30 around the flowerbeds. During the summertime they stay on all night but come October until April they only run about half the night.

Hi,
Personally I don't like lights that shine in your eyes when looking in the
pond. IOW hide the lights underwater and aim them away from viewing angles.
If you can see the lens it is wrong. The effect is the whole pond 'glows'
instead of obvious lights. The fish would probably like having a dark period
at some point but have seen ponds lit 24/7.
There are other opinions,

I have to agree with this, if you can see the light you have done something
wrong.....I have 300 w of Malibu lights in my back & on the pond and another
150 in the front, you can't "see" any one light just the result.....I have
used the pro series flods, rock floods and one of their underwater lights, I
love the total effect.

Post pics. I want to add lights to my landscaping, and am looking for ideas.

This is from last year before the plants filled in and before I added the
underwater light.....I will try and take a new one tonight. You might want
to look through the album, it documents my pond from start last year to
about present.

Whatta alotta work to dig all that. But, Bob, my *favorite* feature of
your pond is the waterfall. Congratulations! (Not that you win
anything for my accolades; just that the waterfall is darn "perfect" in
my opinion...)
