View Full Version : Best Way to Move goldfish?

am moving to a new house soon, just 3 miles away. will need to keep two
comets in another, smaller tank for transit and until I can figure out a
permanent home for their tank. Ease of transport is somewhat of a
requirement this time so I will need the smallest container for them to
live in for possibly a few days.
both are 3-4 inch comets. with water changes, etc I am planning on
using a 2.5g size tank for transport and temporary home. Any major
problems with this plan?
thx - Craig
cover the container with netting, use air stone. change water every day add a bit of
salt, like 1teaspoon per 5 gallons. DONT FEED the fish for a couple days before the
move and while they are in the bucket. they can go a couple weeks without food.
use a 5 gallon bucket with only 1/4 of the bucket with water. top up at the new
house. Ingrid
