We have a new pond 3 weeks old, we have 3 goldfish, 2 fantails, 1
ghost koi,1 english koi and 2 shubumkins one of the shubumkins keeps
knocking the other fish anyidea why, he chases them and bashes them

If it's bunting their abdomens it might be a mating thing. As I understand
it the males bunt the females to get them to lay their eggs. I've seen my
aquarium fish do this.

Keep an eye on the fantails - they are much much slower than commons and koi!

Oddly enough, that's what cichlids do too...especially the kribs and
zebras... the female will let the male know she's ready by bumping him in
the side, sometimes very hard...

Many Thanks for your answers, another question my mum has a very large
pond with about 40 fish in it, but every day they all line themselves
up the same way and just stare at side of pond, could it be the sun
direction?

could be a temperature problem.. are they on the deep side? if they are,
then it IS a temp problem.... if you happen to feed on that side, they may
be hungry... if you don't feed, i'm stumped....
