The ones I know about are Hornwort (semi floating), Duckweed, Frogbit,
Salvinia and Water Hyacinth. Problem is your GF will pretty much devour them
all. I've had Water Hyacinth in the past and it survived, but required a lot
of light. This was not an option for the summer due to the temperature
increase. I have Hornwort now and the GF will nibble, but it is still alive.
Duckweed in the pond did not last a day, the GF ate every last bit. One
plant seller recommended Salvinia, as it's a fast grower. I think Frogbit
will last a little longer than Duckweed, as it has larger leaves, but I have
no firsthand knowledge.

The plants most people recommend are Java Fern, Java Moss, Annubias and
Anacharis. Java Fern and Java Moss can be tied to a rock or driftwood, no
substrate required. I plan to try these next. I also plan to start a plant
tank to grow some floaters for the GF.
