Where does one buy a veiltail? I live in San Diego with several very large
fish stores that specialize in goldfish and they look at me like I'm from
mars when I ask if they have any veiltails. Also, many of the websites I've
looked at don't even mention the existance of veiltails or they lump them in
with Ryukins or fantails. I have read veiltails are difficult to breed--is
this why I can only find pictures in old goldfish books?
If I can't buy one, how do I breed one? I was thinking of starting with a
sarassa comet with very long fins and breeding it to a sarassa ryukin or
fantail. Would this be a waste of time? Very frustrating!
I have seen one veiltail picture from the 1940's that has stunning fins with
a forked caudal (which is not the correct standard for todays veiltails but
I prefer it to the square tail). I have never seen anything like this
available for sale anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
