I recently purchased a snowball pleco (L-102). I have read averything
I can find on the Web about this fish (not much, BTW). Can anyone
tell me about their experiences with this fish? Is the "whitish" cast
of sections of its dark brown skin (apparently caused by the many fine
hair-like bristles) normal for this species?'
Thanks.

I have become interested L-Plecos recently...I read that the 3000
different species of fish so far discovered in the Amazon is very likely
the same number not yet discovered.
This publication (to my understanding) is the most referred to and
respected L-Pleco reference...AQUALOG Loricariidae:=A0 All L-Numbers
vol. II
This is the fully revised new version of the most successful aquarium
book of the last decade. The book contains all f-number and LDA Number
catfishes, from L01 to L350 and from LDA 01 to LDA76. All important
characters and care instructions are available in symbols. The symbol
explanations in ten different languages.
It is a unique standard work, recognized worldwide. The book is
indispensable for trade, breeders and aquarium hobbyists who keep these
wonderful fishes.
