I have a 30-gallon reef tank and I've done a little research on which would
be the best protein skimmers. Would you all recommend the Aqua C Urchin?
It seems to be a pretty good skimmer for the money and it seems very easy to
install. Do you guys know of any drawbacks to this skimmer?
Many Thanks!

Get any efficient PS that can handle 4x min. turnover of your tank.

Marine Depot rates several popular models on a 1-2-3 scale:

Depending on your tank size and how much inhabitant waste and feeding. You
need to take in those account on which PS will do the min. job. I use
Euro-Reef CS8-1 to take care of my 100USG. I would have gone higher but
budget set in. My PS now idling and waiting for mishap or overfeeding by
someone.
The following is IMHO
AquaC Remera should be ok on a 40USG but better to get bigger PS.
AquaC EV120 or 180 for 55-75USG and again, a bigger PS will alway be better.
What is not efficient is when 75USG with AquaC Remora. It will do the job
but will take longer time.

I have one, and I like it. Pay a little extra and get the Maxijet
replacement for the Rio.
