Hi group.
Its time for me and my fishes to get a new tank.
My tank now is a 55 gallon tank with fishes that seems to get big
enough so for the next 6 months they wont be able to be very happy
with the space. The main problem is a silver arowana i have which get
bigger and bigger day by day.I want to buy a tank at about 200-250
gallon. The problem is here in Greece the prices are very high. So, i
have two questions. The first is if anyone from here has ordered a tank
from the internet and how safe is that.Is there any insurance for the
tank and the shippment?Any sites out there from companys that sells
tanks?
Second question is if anyone has build his own tank in that size and
what are the possibilities of a tank failure(leak etc).Is it safe for
the fishes that they are going to live in the tank.Of course i dont
want to loose not one of the fishes.Thank you for any advice.

Transportation/insurance makes single tank purchases expensive.
Generally, stores get tanks on pallets, but single tank deliveries get
their own wooden crate. For your case, I would build a plywood aquarium.
If well constructed it will not leak. It is much more economical to
build large tanks this way (400g+) and you only need to buy one sheet of
glass (jmo).
