Hello everybody. I have two questions to ask and I hope someone can give me
some good information. I am in the process of setting of a 55 gallon reef
tank for my science class. I am at the point where I am ready to add live
rock and live sand. I'm looking at either Fiji or Carribean live rock, does
anyone know which is better? The question about sand is very similar. I am
looking at adding either Fiji or Floridian Reef sand. Any advice? Thanks a
lot.

Fiji is supposed to be lighter and more porous, so I think it would be
better. If you get Florida rock you can get aquacultured rock with
plenty of coral and other delicate life forms on it.

There are a couple of companies that specialize in good quality pacific
live rock that has a lot of life on it. I got some from Harbor Aquatics
that had quite a lot of interesting things on it. Some coral and
plenty of fan worms. Even a sea spider.
