Howdy,

I've been keeping cichlids for decades, but this is my first attempt
at a marine tank.

I've just setup a 25 gallon nano :

S.G. 1.024
Temp 80F

substrate :

3 inches of CarbiSea premium select aragonite ( sugar sized )
3 inches of Fiji live sand ( fresh from the airplane )

L.R. :
45 lbs of "premium" Fiji liver rock (its always "premium", isn't it :-))

Lighting :
36 watt 5.1K "daylight" PC
36 watt actinic 03 PC
55 watt 7.1K daylight PC
55 watt 12K blue PC

Now for the questions :

1) When should I add a detrivore package ?
At time 0 ? ( now ... )
At L.R/live sand plus 1 week ?
plus 2 weeks ?

Or should I wait until a chemical milestone is reached such
as 0 Ammonia ?

There is enough dead stuff still on the rocks to kill a horse.
I was think a detrivore crew might help by cleaning up some of
this stuff before it becomes nitrates.

2) What should the detrivore crew consist of ? Should they be
added all at once, or is there are preferred schedule for the
introduction ?

3) Do you have any recommendations for economical USA suppliers
for nano-reef sized detrivore kits ?

That's enough for now. I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

Thanks in advance for answering ....
