Hi,
Over the last two days, one of my pair of parrot fish has developed
black markings on his nose and top lip. He also has black streaks on
his fins.
Any idea what could have caused this? The other parrot is fine. We do
suspect this parrot of recently eating four sailfin molly's, if that's
any help!

I know that black streaking on the extremities can sometimes be caused
by (healing) ammonia burns, if that's of any help?

Parrots get black spot occasionally. It's refered to aqs "black spot
disease" even though it's NOT a disease. Parrots can change like that it
they're stressed: if there's a new fish added, decor changed, etc. It's also
a good idea to check for ammaonia and other chemicals.. The spots will
most likely fade over a few days although one of mine has a permanent streak
on his caudal fin. No big deal though, you know?
