View Full Version : Auto-feeder for a microreef?
Put 030516 in email subj to get thru

I'll be going on a vacation sometime where I'll be away long enough to
need to feed the one fish in my micro-reef.
I have a 15 gal micro-reef with about 70 watts of PC compact flourescent
light. I have an automatic top off freshwater replenishment system
that works fine.
But I need an automatic feeder that can feed just a very little bit of
food every day or two. I don't want the food to get sucked up in the
filter either.
I was thinking about getting one of those rings that floats on the
surface to keep the food all in one part of the tank (away from the
filter intake).
Does anybody have any automatic fish feeders they'd recommend for a
small tank?
Thanks in advance

If you can't find that in stores try online.. www.drsfostersmith carries
several, but the one Marc mentioned is best.. has a seperate little
compartment for each feeding. The ones where you just fill one big
compartment and it drops out of a slot don't work very well. They will drop
too much one time then not enough or none the next.

Eheim make a terrific, virtually faultless one that you would be very happy
with.

I have an Eheim feeder. It is wonderfull. But probably too big for the
15 gal. I had a fun time trying to limit the food fed to my 20 FW.
