I am setting up a 100 gallon aquarium for goldfish and need a
recommendation for a filtration system.

Thanks!

A couple of Rena Filstar Xp3's would probably do the trick. They have huge
media space!

I currently have a 100 gallon yank with goldfish--too many goldfish! I have
about 20 fish ranging in size from 2 inches up to almost 8 inches with most
of them around 4-5 inches. They all came from my outdoor pond.

I originally started with a Rena XP3 but found it couldn't handle the load.
I added an Aqua Clear 110 (formerly called 500). The water is now crystal
clear and the fish seem happy. I have high levels of ammonia and nitrates
and perform 1/3 water changes about every 2 weeks and so far so good.

If you don't overload the tank, maybe one of these alone would do the trick,
but goldfish are dirty fish and you really need to keep on top of them. I
also have a 29 gallon tank and a 300 gallon indoor pond--all are overstocked
with goldfish. I just can't seem to part with them.

Good luck.
