I'm going to guess that it's new. If so, turn down the air venturi
until the bubbles are pretty minimal in the inner tube. (enough that
water doesn't collect in the cup)
Now don't mess with it for a few days. Seriously, don't touch it.
Skimmers require a break-in period to begin skimming properly. After
it begins skimming, you can adjust the venturi for maximum
performance.

Billy is right...I did what he suggested and in a few days it was working
perfectly...still is, too.

mine works great inside my sump. Lotsa smelly brown skimmate.

The secret with this device is to make sure that all of the fittings
are tight and that no air escapes (especially where the water comes out
of the venturie and passes into the skimmer. I use one of the plastic
clamps on this fitting. Also, when you first start it there is not
normally anything collected for a day or so. This is normal and should
not be cause for alarm. You should remember that the amount of waste
collected is proportional to the amount of organic compounds dissolved
in your water. Good tank maintenance habits = less waste collected.
If you feed a little too much (bad idea), that food that dissolves in
the water will end up in the collection cup.

there are modifications you can do on this skimmer also. They are pretty
much bottom of the line. Yes, I can say that because I own one.
Regardless, go to aquariumpros.ca, and do a search for seaclones. I modded
mine and it works 100% better.

Disagree. Prizms, and ANY model that uses an airstones, for example,
are far inferior to the seaclone. IMO and IME, the seaclones are, if
maintained well, along with the tank, just fine for most reefs that
aren't heavy on sensitive corals and inverts.
