....you had an empty, cycled 13 gallon tank, what would you put in it?

I fancy endlers.
I also fancy figure-eight puffers, but I'm pretty sure I'm not up to the
challenge of a brackish tank at the moment, and I'd like a bigger tank
for those.

but what would you do?

hmmmmmm.
hmmmmmmmmmm...
cute. interesting. I like the idea of little fish that do something
other than swimming around in a school; but I'm not sure about shell
dwellers; water chemistry issues (also for the endlers)
I'd also wondered about little corys.

interesting idea, thank you.

Since you have cories on the brain...see if you can find 10-15 pygmy
cories (corydoras_hastatus).....(and if you do, let me know where you
got em!!) That would give your tank a very interesting new start..IMO. :)

corys are cute and fun to watch. i have 2 julii corys and 3 bronze
corys. i think otocinclus are cute too! if i had a bigger tank (or
less fish) i would definitely add some otos....and siamese flying
foxes :) and i'd also love a big school of neon tetras. my school of
neons only consists of 5.

I love my Pygmies!
I like to keep a few in my 3g Eclipse along with a male Betta.
I have had a large school of them in the past in my large tank, but healthy
ones have been hard to find recently.
When you have several of them, they will school together mid-water. Not
something you normally see Cories doing, and it's a neat sight.
They also like to perch up on plants instead of hanging out at the bottom level
all the time.
Talk about too cute!
They're one of the cutest catfishes out there.
The only thing that you need to be aware of with this little guys, is to
acclimate them slowly. If your water chemistry is different than what they came
out of, do a longer float time adding small amounts of tank water, every 10
minutes for an hour.
You can even do a drip method, which is a slow, constant drip of tank water
into their bag water that has been emptied out into a bucket, or other
container (with the fish too of course).
