View Full Version : No one likes pink tetra flakes

Has anyone else ever noticed any fish that eat the pink flakes in the
Tertra tropical flake food? I've used both the original and Pro
varities, and man - they all hate the pink flakes! Giant and Zebra
Danios, Buenos Aires and Columbian tetras, all my corys, all my ottos,
Austrailian Rainbows, Swordtails, Bolivian Rams...

Now I'm curious if I just get picky fish, or if the pink flakes are
really gross or something...

My Angels will suck them in, chew a little and spit them out. The 3" Silver
Dollars will eat anything, I think the favorite in my tank are the white
ones, next green.

I had the opposite experience with black neon and cardinal tets, and some
others. Nobody would eat the white ones, but did eat the red. Now, after a
few weeks they seem to eat everything last time I checked.

Interesting! I liked the look of the black neons last time I was at the
LFS.... maybe they'll go in the new tank when the cycle is finished.
Then someone will eat all the food that's just being wasted.

I feed my fish nothing but "Tetra Tropical Flakes". Everything gets
eaten by someone, but I have seen pickiness and spitting out. Never
watched closely enough to see if it is individuals or species related.
All of the fish must find what they need, they seem healthy, colorful
and active.

I really recommend them. They have quite a lot of color in that stripe and
mine seem to be growing quickly. Some of them are starting to seem like
"regular sized" fish rather than little schooling ones. I think they are
also a nice contrast to the cardinals, and they occupy the water zone just
above the cardinals, who hang out at the lower part.
