question about gouramis

I was thinking about mixing in some dwarf gouramis with guppies. Some sources say they are compatible, while some sources say they are not. Which is correct?

Also I found a LFS with a true dwarf gourami. What's the difference between the true dwarf and the dwarf?

Both probably, fish have personalities some may get on while others
don't. I have kept both with no problems.

The dwarf has a number of different colour varieties now (neon dwarfs
etc), the lfs may be indicating that this is a base population, close to
wildtype.

I have used guppys as feeders for my gourami's, they will onlt eat the small ones though. keeping a dwarf gourami with dult guppys should be a problem. W.

Probably. I have a three year old 3.5" three spot gourami in with two male
guppies (and others) and he does not bother them. He's much more interested
in chasing off the sword tails who don't understand that the big cave is
*his* cave.

i have a female dwarf gourami and she gets along just fine with my
guppies and all the other fish in the aquarium. she's still real
small though...not sure if she's an adult or juvenile
