View Full Version : MY FISH IS A WHORE !

Of all the the years of fish keeping, I have here a situation which
truly takes the cake.

To avoid having fry, I have an all-male population of community fish
(which I affectionetely call the GAY tank) in my 90 gallon aquarium.
The community itself is compromised of various mollies, gouramis,
balas, tetras, paradise, and one betta.

Taking the advice of a friend, I went out and purchased a female molly
to ease community tensions as I noticed that the general behavior of
the gay tank was extremely territorial borderline hostile.

The female molly is exhibiting behavior in that she goes from fish to
fish (regardless of speciies) and begins to "rub" against that fish
constantly in a fashion I've never seen before.

It's been a few days now and she is still going at it. Is this a form
of mating or what?? Has anyone seen this before?

Any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting sick
and tired of coming home to watch fish porno.

Thanks everyone.

Jim.

Please tell me the community is comprised of...not compromised, as if
they were all porno stars. But yes, I definitely had gay Gouramis,
possibly because you can't find females in the trade, so they may have
been exhibiting prison behavior. But my balas were definitely born gay.
I had a female convict who was the party girl of the turtle aquarium
of all places. I wound up with a couple hundred little convicts and had
to empty the whole tank to make sure I got them all out before the place
turned into a hen house. Turtles and fish, yes, but no hens, please.
