Total Darkness Cure for Algae

OK people, I have taken your advice and have just completely blacked out my
4' planted aquarium with two thick blankets. I will leave it like that for
three days but if I wind up with a graveyard I am going to be VERY ****ED
OFF. So I hope you guys know what you're talking about.

You DO know that just blacking out the tank is not enough, right?

Yes, I understand that, and hope reducing both my ferts and feeding will be
able to keep it under control in future...........time will tell.
