Feather dusters??

I just got a new piece of live rock and it has several tube worms that the fish
store said were feather dusters. They have a slender brown tube and the part
that goes in and out (what is that called anyway) is white. Does feather
duster sound right? Will they spread?

The small & tiny ones will spread, I must have a few thousand in my
refugium. There are harmless filter feeders.
