Woke up this morning and it looked like my pond was bombarded with
chuncks of styrofoam. From previous times, I knew exactly what
happened.....O2 stavation and a fish kill. The last 5 days have been
very dull and overcast, and the last three have been especailly hot.

Down to the pond I went, expecting to see my koi and GF belly up, but
not a one in the enclosure was at the surface....... I alked into the
popnd and over to the fountain, and all along the outside of the
enclosure was a huge school of fish of all sizes all trying to take
advantage of the fountain and its aeration..........A couple of quick
swipes with the 18" diam net landed me close to a bucket full of
bream, and also 3 nice large mouth bass of approx 4 pounds. Aoo total
I filled up 11 5 gal buckets to the top with bream and small bass and
shad..........and picked up 19 large mouth bass that went 7 to 8
pounds each and 47 channel cats ranging from about 5 pounds to well
over 15 pounds......(I weighted a few of the fish just to see what
they did weigh..... Very nice fish.....I initially put in 50 channel
cats the last time I stocked it, and I have never had them breed in
the pond before since I have had it.......so I feel pretty good they
are eliminated at least......no clue as to if there is any more large
bass left or not........While I was really wanting to eliminate all or
as many fish as possible in the pond outside the enclosure, and a fish
kill is a bad thing, this actually did great for me, and was a god
send.......I feel pretty confident that most if not all large bass and
catfish are now history, as its always the larger fish that die first
on a fish kill.

Anyway all my koi and the new GF from Petco are just fine.
Pond temp is still at 78 deg.
