How much water movement?

I've got a couple of Fluval 304s on a 75 gallon tank + a bubble wall
(aesthetics). Is this too much filtration/water movement? I noticed that the
fish seem to hang out at the bottom more than in the old tank. They seemed
to prefer the output from the AquaClear 500, as it did not disturb the
entire top layer of the tank. I've turned the Bubble Wall to low, which they
seem to prefer. I'm also thinking of putting it on a timer, so it goes off
at night.

Do any of you use a spreader bar with your Fluvals? If so, what brand/model?

Bill - it should be fine. They'll get used to it.
