This is not a question about the Fluval + internal filters. I am
addressing this group of people because they know how quiet these
units are. Here is the question. Are there any other filtration
systems that you have used that are as quiet as a submerged Fluval +
Internal filter. Specifically, how loud is a power filter?
In my experience, a submerged powerhead is incredibility loud compared
to a submerged Fluval Internal.

I've got an Eheim aquaball which is as quiet as the Fluval, but that's
basically a similar system by a different manufacturer, so I'm not sure
if that helps...

It did. However, I was really trying to explore other filtration
alternatives. The Fluval + was quiet but it really didn't do too good
a job as a bio-filter. My guess is that the sponge inside is too
small. My other set up with a big ass sponge (6 inch diameter) filter
and a 160gph powerhead is very good as a bio-filter but not too
attractive. I used the Fluval + as a reference point since I have
read posts from people who claimed a powerhead was quiet, but my
Maxijet was obviously not quiet compared to a Fluval +.
