I am trying to find someone that can give me some help. I have put out
about $200 on percula's only to have them all die on me. I have a 55G
tank with a tidal wave wet/dry. Water tests are all very good with
ammonia and all testing at 0 and not having any problems with the
other fish or crabs in the tank.
I have the Clowns for 2 to 3 weeks, then all of a sudden the will stop
eating, start to breath rapid and then die off. Have tired putting
them in a hospital tank with Copper safe and fresh water dip that have
not helped. These have all been tank-raised clowns. Any help would be
greatly approached.

Nitrate is zero? Nitrite? Phosphate? Salinity? Give me as much info
as you can. Do you have live rock? How much. Have you tried running
carbon for a couple weeks? There may be a toxin that built up slowly
enough that the existing inhabitants built up a resistance to it, but
new additions can't tolerate it for long. Also consider the quality
of pumps\filters\powerheads. A poorly sheilded, failing one can
discharge electrons into the water, a grounding prode *may* help if
this is the issue. Also, how old is the tank?

I haven't heard of a "tidal wave wet\dry" not could I find it with a
cursory Google search. Does this use bio-balls or similar? You may
want to consider your filtration unless nitrate aren't an issue, as
wet\dry filters are long out of popularity with most reefers due to
their tendancy to manufacture nitrates at alarming rates.
