Hi
I was wondering if anyone out there can give me instruction (an a list of
equipment) needed to attach an undergravel filter to a hang on filter (such
as an auqclear 500) to make a reverse Undergravel filter...
Hope that you can help me!
Cheers!

More or less, you can't.

The RUGF requires a powered stream of water to be forced down the
vertical tube, the water then rises up through the gravel. The
aquaclear outflow is a wide waterfall type, not contained at all.

I use the aquaclear 500 and an RUGF powered by a pair of Penguin 660R
power heads.

If something is worth doing, it must be worth overdoing.

Sure, and I've done this, but that wouldn't be a RUGF, (reverse
undergravel filter) it would be a plain old UGF. You can simply
insert the intake of the Aqua into an uplift tube, or use flexible
tubing and then silicone everything in place. The tighter the fit,
the better. The water will seek the path of least reistance, so if
there is any holes for the water to get into, the volume of water
being pulled through the gravel will be significantly reduced.
