I have followed instructions...
I have also purchased a product with the following ingrediants.
Its called SPOT OFF
0.01% Acriflavine
0.1% Malachite
0.05% Formadehyde
I have been informed it can be used topically and in the water.
I have already used it in the water and expected to repeat half doses every
second day.
I am now sure its fin rot as I see the vail goldfish sleeping at the bottom
of the tank.

the MAJOR cause of fin rot is poor water quality. adding MORE toxins, even
medications, is not going to cure the problem. do 50% water changes every day for
the next week and Add 1 teaspoon of salt per 5 gallons. rock salt with no additives.
then see if the fins are recovering. Ingrid

Thanks Ingrid....
I will do.
I think it could also be the bacteria on the gravel.
Anything I can do about that ?
Giving it all a good clean....or as I have seen others mention ...go
ZEN....no gravel.

the bacteria on the gravel are mostly good guys. at the bottom of the gravel (if the
gravel is deep) there may be some anaerobic guys. but mostly it is the organic
matter that accumulates in the gravel and rots adding more wastes and toxins to teh
water that is the problem. Ingrid

I think I saw a dramatic change when salt was added.
There were water changes as well.
