boiling or bleach

As mentioned I have a couple of spots of tuft algae in my tank, I have never
used bleach near my tank and am loath to do so. How effective would boiling
the ornaments in the tank be?

Sorry that should boiling the ornaments from the tank otherwise the fish
might get a bit stressed as the water bubbles around them ;)

Boiling would work fine, and in my opinion is much safer.
