I am considering getting an extra tank but the only place I can fit it is a
corner. I've seen one but I'm totally at a loss as to work out the volume!
It's 3' high and has 5 sides. the back is a triangle corner and the front is
a sort of straight bow. The "triangle" sides are each 16" and the 2 smaller
"bow" sides are 5" each. Can anyone help? (I'm in the UK so trying to work
it out in UK gals)
Many thanks

If you think of your shape as like a yaught, I calculate as follows:
hull = 69.06 square inches & sails = 127.9 spuare inches.
So total base area is appx. 197 sq. inches.
Volume then = 197 x 36 x 2.54 x 2.54 x 2.54 cc
& 1000 cc = 1 litre
& 1 uk gallon = 4.546 litres
so about 25.5 uk gallons.

a 36X12X18 tank is 20 gallons ? so according to one post you can keep less
the 3 fish in it I don't think so as most people recommend 1" fish per
gallon or in your case 25" of fish that's three big fish

1" of fish per gallon is based on your typical tropical fish.
For goldfish its 1" of fish per 3 gallons generally.
