Is any one using a DIY Ca+ reactor on a small tank? I want to build one for
use on a 30 gal tank. All the plans I find are for units that are much to
tall for my cabinet. Would like some thing about 12" tall that can run off a
small external pump like a mag drive.

Has any one experimented with non-Co2 methods of ph control in the reactor,
such as dripping muriatic or acetic acid?

This one uses standard 10" filter canister:

Description is in Polish, but pictures alone will be probably enough.

My local club makes one using the plastic cartridge that goes in an RO
unit. I believe the cost is around $100 to put it together.
I'm not sure about adding those things to your reactor especially when
it will be cycling through your tank.
