Hey I was looking through my new book and they said that yellow tails do
best in a group of three or more. Less than that they tend to be
aggressive. When I saw that I thought of you and yours who like to head
but.

Have a great day,
Vicki

lol.. yeah I have read something like that too.. I only have two of them and
they are pretty mild with each other and the other fish.. it's just my hand
that the one doesn't like. It's really one of those things.. ok one *more*
of those things.. that ultimately depends on the fish itself. One thing I
was going to mention when you said something about all yours coming from the
same tank in the store.. try not to get into the habit of picking them based
on their actions in a store tank.. they are usually very bare and they don't
have the opportunity to stake out their own territory so they just kind of
*have* to get along. Once they are in a home tank with rock etc and have
their own space, so to speak, is when the aggression usually comes out if
it's going to.

I am sure you are right there. When I got mine home I did a little
research and found that they get along reasonably with others. They had
some of the "blue devils" and as pretty as they were I sure am glad I
didn't get one. They also have some yellow fish and pink ones in the
damsel tank, but I don't have any info on either of them in my book or
the library book I have.

Started adding some lava rock to the tank and I like it as much as the
fish do. They swim in and out and seem to have picked out their homes.
I look forward to picking out more stuff in the next few weeks. Besides
lava rock I will not add anything living for a few weeks. So far so
good tho, had my water tested today and it is great!! But don't want to
push things to fast for my biological filter.

Lava rock? Yikes! Huge sulfur content. Hopefully you meant what
I've seen some LFS call lava rock, aka tufa rock, aka Texas holey rock.
