what can I look for in the UK and in which test should I check often.
Ph never really varied and ammonia was always present but in very low level.
nitrites were always zero and the nitrates were a problem for a while but I
do seem to have them under control but what about Kh hardness, phosphates,
iodine levels etc..
does anyone manufacture a full set that will cover the full range of
important water properties.

I like Salifert kits, but they don't sell a multi-pack.
MarineDepot.com sells groups of kits, but usually the
grouping isn't to my preference so I just buy the ones I want.

I like LaMotte. Here is a website where you can get them.
http://www.aquaticeco.com. I know this is not local to UK.

Another option is Salifert. They are reliable and don't cost as much as the
LaMotte.
