Nuisance or serendipitous refugium ?

I was climbing up on top of my cabinets tonight to do a little work on
one of my durso standpipes, and found quite large tangles of sargassum
(I think) growing in the overflows. Is this something good and I should
leave it there, or do I want to yank it all out and pitch it ?

I'd pull it before it became a blockage of sorts. Toss it in your refugium if
you have one.
