I've been topping-off with kalk water for a while now but can't seem to
siphon out a fully dissolved mixture, or the powder is coming out of
solution in my reservoir. Does this happen with everyone else? Here is my
procedure..

I mix 5gal of RO/DI and 5tsp of kalk in a salt bucket with a powerhead for
an hour or so. After letting that sit overnight, I siphon it into my
top-off reservoir using 1/2" tubing. Here I hold the tubing a few inches
from the bottom of the salt bucket and stop before siphoning the film layer
on top. Then by the next day, I've got a thin layer of kalk powder on the
bottom of my reservoir. I've tried using less mix and siphoning several
ways but no luck. Thanks for any help, JJJ.

Calling Boomer... Come in Boomer.

He will correct me if I'm wrong (amongst others). But doesn't
kalkwasser throw of a precipitate and/or form a crust in the presence
of CO2?

Hoping to set up his first tank in the spring. Unless someone can
donate a house?
